Chief Financial Officer & Chief Risk Officer (CFO/CRO)

Cheryl Maksymiw joined SaskCentral in 2009 and was appointed to the position of Chief Financial Officer & Chief Risk Officer (CFO/CRO) in February 2024. Cheryl had served as interim CFO/CRO for the previous year, and prior to that was Head of Financial Management and Reporting, a position she held for more than five years.

In her role, Cheryl is a critical part of the Executive Leadership Team ensuring the financial and operational viability of SaskCentral, as well as supporting the strategic direction of the organization. She also maintains executive oversight of the Enterprise Risk Management and Financial Management & Reporting areas of SaskCentral.

Cheryl’s position includes representing SaskCentral when collaborating with counterparts from other centrals and partner organizations to ensure strategic alignment of financial strategies with the organization’s major initiatives. In that capacity, she sits on the board of CU CUMIS Wealth Holdings and on the Group Clearing Joint Venture Management Committee as SaskCentral’s appointee.

Prior to joining SaskCentral, Cheryl held senior analyst positions with CUETS Financial, The Canada Life Assurance Company and Deloitte.

She holds her Chartered Professional Accountant designation and a Bachelor of Administration with Cooperative Education designation from the University of Regina.
